Incandescent Or Fluorescent?

Have your swapped out you're electro guzzling incandescent bulbs for eco sipping compact fluorescent bulbs? If so you've probably noticed a big difference... Not necessarily in a good way. Even if you don't know what "kelvins" are or color temperature means, your eyes sure know. Here is a example.

 Right away you notice the incandescent is gives off a orange light and the cfls give off a white/blueish light.
This is where the "kelvins" and "color temperature" come in.

You can see that the orange light means it is a warmer light, and the blue light means its a cool light.
Maybe its a preference but I like the warm light cfl's that remind me more of incandescent light. Here are some examples to compare the kelvin rating on cfls to warm vs cool light. Color Temperature Wiki

This post is a little off topic but with all the turmoil and "change" (the 'c' word forever ruined by Obama) I had to add this photo that left me in confusion wondering whether it was just a bad angle or intentional? Either way I'm going to decree February as down with dictator month. As well as down with the infamous Col. Harland Sanders who lives on forever in infamy.

Noxious Weeds? Maybe not after all.

Like others I like to go out and pull, spray, and eradicate any form of plant matter that didn't resemble anything that belonged on a golf green. After a bout of cabin fever and longing for spring I started studying herbs and realized that a lot of these "weeds" were actually medicinal plants! My interest was peaked when listening to The Survival Podcast headed by Jack Spirko when he had whole segment dedicated to healing herbs. Common weeds like plantain, dandelion, red clover, stinging nettles and many others. There are loads of online resources that you can use so you don't poison yourself or get sick too. Wow! Plants For A Future Can't wait for spring!

Rising fuel prices. I have a feeling things aren't going to get better.

Driving home today I noticed the gas station by my house was priced a $1.14 per litre or $4.33 per u.s.gallon. The new Asolo hiking boots are going to get a little more use than just recreational! Is it just me or does this whole Libya thing seem all to familiar with Iraq in 2003? Old Muammar al-Gaddafi is sounding just like Saddam Hussein did before his empire collapsed.
Better start to get a little "eco" friendly just to have some green in left in the wallet!

This has to be one the top insane things people do unintentionally all the time. Countless people waste their whole lives in occupations or education they aren't passionate about. If you have ever watched the chef Gordon Ramsay tear a strip off of someone most of the time he deems their failure on lack of passion for their chosen career, and its no holds barred on customers either. No matter what you think he's passionate about what he does for a living and you should be as well. That little tale your parent or grandparents said about "its not the amount of money you make but it's more important to love what you do.." I'd hate to admit it they're right! Do what you love and you'll be successful in every way. Waste your life in a career hating every second of it. Don't bother, be happy!
